Applications to become a member of Indigenous Art Code Limited are now open.

Please note that processing may take up to six weeks. A membership fee of $300 for the period up to 30 June 2012 applies to Dealer and Code supporter members. Payment can be made by cheque, money order or Electronic transfer.

There are three categories of Company membership:

  1. Dealer members - are organisations and individuals who are engaged in commercial trade with indigenous artists. These members are also signatories to the Code of Conduct and must adhere to the Code’s requirements in conducting business. They must also respect the rules set out in the company constitution.
  2. Indigenous Artist members - are Indigenous artists who wish to be informed and involved in the company. They are not bound by the Code of Conduct but as Company members, must abide by the rules set out in the company constitution.
  3. Code Supporter members - are people and organisations who support the Code and its principles but are not involved in commercial trade with indigenous artists. This could include collectors, individual philanthropists, galleries and museums covered by the Charter of Principles for Publicly Funded Collecting Institutions. They are not bound by the Code of Conduct but as Company members, must support and promote the ethical principles of the Code and abide by the rules set out in the company constitution.

Apply to become a Dealer Member/signatory to the Code

The Code is voluntary and will apply only to current dealer members of Indigenous Art Code Limited - the public Company established to administer the Code.

Dealer members are bound to adhere to the Code through the company constitution. As a dealer member of Indigenous Art Code Limited, you will be entitled to attend annual general meetings and vote on major Company issues. You will also be able to nominate yourself or other dealer members for an appropriate position on the Board of Directors.

Membership fee is $300 for the period up to 30 June 2012 and must be included with your application. Payment can be made by cheque, money order or Electronic transfer. Where using electronic transfer, please include proof of transfer (receipt or transaction reference) with your application form.

  3. Download and print the Signatory and Membership application form - Dealer Members. Note that there are two forms in this document.
  4. Complete the forms and send with your membership fee (cheque or money order) or proof of electronic transfer of membership fee to

Apply to become an Indigenous Artist member

Apply to become a Code Supporter member

Code Supporter membership is open to any individuals or organisations who are not commercial dealers of Indigenous art.

Membership fee is $300 for the period up to 30 June 2012. Payment for Code Supporter Members is NOT required until the application has been accepted by the Board.
