Edwina Circuitt has been working as the inaugural Manager of Warakurna Artists Aboriginal Corporation since March 2005. Warakurna is a remote community situated in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands, Western Australia, 330 kilometres west from Uluru. Warakurna Artists exhibits with leading commercial galleries and its art appears in major national and international public galleries and museums.
Warakurna Artists is well known for its innovative programs such as the Wanarn Aged Care Art Therapy project, Painting in Community and Tjitji (kids) Creative programs, which Edwina oversees. Good governance and community support underpins Warakurna Artists’ philosophy as an organisation and in 2008 Warakurna Artists won the highly contested Reconciliation Australia and BHP Billiton Indigenous Governance Award.
Before moving to Warakurna Edwina lived in Melbourne where she worked for Museum Victoria for six years.
