Martin Wardrop is the director of Aboriginal Art Online Pty Ltd which works with Aboriginal community art centres and artists to sell and promote their work on the Internet. He was a member of the reference group which helped to develop the initial draft of the Commercial Code of Conduct and is a former president of the Australian Indigenous Art Trade Association.

Until recently he has also been a senior lecturer in environment and public sector management at the University of Queensland. Before that he was a public servant for nearly two decades holding a range of senior policy and managerial roles - in particular with responsibility for Commonwealth funding and management of Australia’s World Heritage properties.

It was his experience visiting World Heritage places such as Uluru - Kata Tjuta and Kakadu and the preparation for listing of Purnululu (Bungle Bungles) that allowed him to build connections with Aboriginal communities and art centres and then to start the business Aboriginal Art Online in 2000.

He holds a D Phil in physics, MSc in mathematics and was the Rhodes Scholar for Victoria in 1974.
